Child-friendly General Cleaner

child-friendly cleaner

When Henry was born, I started looking for cleaners that were safer to have around the house.  Through a series of searches, and trials, I arrived at my own version of a greener, child-friendly cleaner.  As an added bonus, it's much more cost effective!

Carolyn's General Cleaner

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup distilled, white vinegar
  • 1 tsp. dish soap
  • 1 tbsp. rubbing alcohol

Pour all the above ingredients into a clean sprayer and shake.  That's it!  You can add a few drops of your favorite essential oil.

We use this cleaner on most hard surfaces and mirrors.  It does a great job with baked-on, stove yuckies.

A few last things:  Please do exercise caution will all cleaning products!  I allow Henry to help me clean surfaces with this spray but only under my supervision.  Also, I do realize there will be times when bleach is still needed.

I've been on the look out for a metal spray bottle but haven't found one with good reviews.  This one is glass and can be found on Amazon.
